To my surprise it I watched the whole thing. Kind of silly story, very predictable, but not terrible. The puppy is what nailed it for me.
After adoping a puppy, Noelle's world is turned upside down when her boyfriend dumps her. Accepting an invitation to spend the holidays with a co-worker, she is surrounded by the Christmas cheer of a happy family, and sparks soon begin to fly.

The film opens with Noelle narrating over a series of Christmas images from her past, saying how life got in the way of getting the puppy she always wanted.
"A dog is for life, not just for Christmas" goes the famous Dogs Trust slogan, and it's always been something on my mind around this time of year. I hate seeing news stories of puppies being bred and sold as Christmas presents, only to be handed over to dog shelters a few days or weeks later, when people realised that a cute puppy isn't just a sweet little teddy bear for them to cuddle, but is a real living creature that needs love, stability and care. So I hated pretty much everything about this movie. she got her life ruined for a dog with EYE CRUSTIES!
After breaking up with her boyfriend and losing her job, Noelle full fills her lifelong wish of getting a puppy. But Buster (the puppy) is the perfect pup she imagined and by spending Christmas with her co-workers quirky family she discovers the true spirit of Christmas and what it means to be family.
